Game on!

Wild West politics are alive and well in Brookfield.

Grab your paper and find page 8B. Look for the nearly half page ad for the referendum. Read it again.

That’s right – a rogue individual has made their mark on the upcoming referendum. Don’t expect much coverage on it, though. Sadly, today is Bruce Gill’s funeral.

As usual, I have more questions than answers here. How much did the ad cost? Will the MJS reveal who paid for it? Are there plans to run another ad like this one?

Whoever it was is likely to get away with it. The new DA doesn’t seem particularly interested in these things like the old one, and referendums have different rules than your average general election. If we ever find out the instigator, I suspect it’s one individual from Brookfield that’s not impressed with the current referendum.

Oh, I wish I knew!

  1. Lucky Lady says:

When I read the ad, I see all the reasons to VOTE NO! Maybe this is reverse psychology? They are pointing to all the reasons the referendum is bad. Someone said “Academics not Athletics, Vote No. This ad supports this idea.

Just goes to show, you can’t trust our city administrators to listen!

  2. I’d say it’s more tongue-in-cheek than reverse psychology. I think it’s interesting that athletics popped up again. Kyle is probably on to something.
