Fire Station in north side park looks to be done deal

The Park and Recreation Commission will look at it on Monday. The agenda item:

6. Review and discussion of the proposed concept plan and related impacts associated with locating Fire Station Number 2 within Fairview North Park and provide direction and recommendations for the park functions, landscaping, structures and parking needed to provide for the appropriate integration of a fire station into the park.

Nope, you don’t word it like the second half unless you know you’ve got an approval in the bag. It’s too bad, too. The commission really doesn’t need to be making the decision yet. The city’s still got the botched south side effort to manage.

And that’s what I think is happening here, folks. Since this is city owned park space, the approvals will be hurried on this north station and construction begun here first. It will leave time to manage the eminent domain of the south parcels while while still appealing to Director of All Things Dean Mardquardt’s desire to rule Brookfield.

I mean, it’s not like we have a real mayor or anything.
