Fairly Conservative

To a sufficient degree; in an evenhanded manner.

Oh, I didn’t take it personally

But oddly enough, I think the spouse kind of did.

You see, the rest of our cul de sac, 4 or 5 houses, have enjoyed the spring city ritual of repairing the damage from the winter plowing. Our poor curve remains untouched. The spouse, ever mindful if his big-mouthed wife’s reputation at City Hall, indirectly blamed me. He doesn’t read, so he never exactly knows what I’m up to on these pages.

I knew better. Terry Starns, the man in charge of such matters, is one of the nice guys. I e-mailed him and copied his boss so I was covered in all directions. Starns wrote back to say he’d put me on this list and I should see a repair in a couple of days.

Now I have to say I’m a little disappointed that one needs to be put the the list for such a repair when it was 1) obvious, and 2) only feet away from other repairs that were made. And, I’m a little skeptical that my neighbors called, either. It sure seems like it would be far more efficient to make the repairs in a logical order rather than run here and there to manage a list.

Still, I won’t take it personally. Before I know it, little pieces of straw will find their way into my dirt, too. Hopefully there’ll be some seed underneath, and all will be right with the world.

Update 3:00 p.m. – Woo hoo! A repair has already been made! That’s great service. Thanks guys.
