U. S. Congressman Paul Ryan is stumping with presidential nominee John McCain today. We all know Ryan has been rumored as a Vice Presidential pick. Seriously? It’s time for that announcement.
I wonder what else the speech will bring. Timing suggests it’s necessary for at least one shoe to drop. The Democratic primaries are running to a close; Obama is probably the candidate. Wisconsin is a swing state.
But, the traveling press hasn’t arrived and there’s nary a sign in sight, so I’d say we have a few minutes still.
**In hindsight – the press was there, but more dispersed than I expected. There were no signs distributed.

Don’t you think McCain takes the VP choice to Denver in his pocket just to keep the convention from being an anti-climax? Or I’m I just too old-fashioned here?

I suppose, Grumps, but this election doesn’t seem very traditional. I feel pretty strongly that McCain could use a little pick-me-up right now.
Of course, they don’t pay me the big bucks, so my opinion matters very little, I’m sure.

Don’t you mean Minneapolis, Grumps?

Hilarious!
Just shows that McCain could be a Democrat in disguise…

Greg, that means you’ll be voting for him then, right?

Sorry Cindy, but there are better Democrats for me to choose from.

As you noticed, no shoes dropped. Ryan will not be the pick and it will be around the time of the convention that you will find out who the VP choice is.
McCain will pick a moderate who will not outshine him…. that means nothing close to Ryan, but that increases the chances that it will be Lindsy Graham or Gov. Christ or some other left-leaning RINO.
When you find out who the VP choice is, you will know that McCain has slapped you in the face… it will leave a mark.

Lindsey Graham is NOT a RINO. Not by any stretch. Sorry.
I think Paul Ryan is way too smart to be McCain’s VP. That is, smarter than McCain.

My money’s on Sarah Palin as McCain’s VP choice.

Yes, I’ve seen reports that’s she’s meeting with the team. She fits a profile that might be helpful: female, governor, start doesn’t shine to brightly, but I wonder if her personal details will get in the way (mainly new baby…good grief, Americans would never get their heads around the idea of a politician bearing a child!)

Ahem, yes. I meant Minneapolis of course.
I’ll be over here, dressing my bruised ego, just…sniff, trying to get the next one right.
(Although, the stealth Democrat thing was kind of funny. John McCain v2.000 might have been able to pull that off. John McCain v2.008 wouldn’t stand a chance.)
