Well that’s not very comforting

I know. I don’t like what we pay in taxes in Brookfield any more than the rest of you. I know where all of the waste and hording is, though, and that can make it feel even worse.

There are a few things I like about Brookfield, and I’d have to say professional services for Fire and EMT are on that list. I picked this up from BrookfieldNOW.com:

The Menomonee Falls Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Volunteer Firefighters and/or Emergency Medical Technicians.

No experience is necessary for the On-Call and Stand-by positions. Applicants must be 18 years of age and must pass both a written and physical agility test.

Application packets may be picked up at the Menomonee Falls Fire Department, Station 3, located at W140 N7501 Lilly Road, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051.

For more information, or to discuss the benefits and rewards of membership with the Menomonee Falls Fire Department, contact Deputy Chief Don Umhoefer at (262) 532-8803.

Applications for this current recruitment process will be accepted until 4:30 p.m Friday July 11, 2008. Applications are accepted year round.

Now if you want to apply, go for it. But when you’re passed out on the floor, would you rather have someone like me show up, or someone that’s trained in a profession to manage your emergency needs?

Don’t faint because I said something nice about Brookfield. But if you do, be glad a pro will answer the call.
