CC Sabathia certainly showed his ability

I spent the afternoon at Miller Park. It was a great day to be there as CC Sabathia pitched his first full game. He sweetened the deal by slugging a homer in the third. You could almost watch this guy find his rhythm with the team. By the ninth, he struck out three batters in a row.

We were lucky to have amazing seats, so it was pretty easy to watch the guy. There’s something about his demeanor – he seems to have a lot of class – that makes me think he’ll provide exactly the component needed to push the team up in the rankings. This guy has the potential to peak at exactly the right time for the Brewers.

Milwaukee has got to have some of the best fans around. One young man, about 7 or 8, caught a ball tossed over the dugout as the team was running in. He sweetly handed it over to a girl his same age who had been trying, too. When he settled in behind us, I heard him explain that he already had a ball from a previous game.

Of course, the Sausage Race is still my favorite – especially now that they do a relay and hand off to the mini sausages. The first half is still so staged, but those kids mean it!
