Mueller takes communications post

Brookfield, Wis. – Melinda Mueller has joined the School District of Elmbrook as part-time Communications Manager.

Mueller will be responsible for developing effective communication programs to disseminate information about the district’s progress toward achieving its mission, vision and goals. She will work closely with Elmbrook’s Communications Committee, write for the district’s publications, and serve as the primary contact for media.

“Melinda will be a valuable asset to our district as it communicates about student learning, facilities, financial issues, and the Elmbrook experience,” said Superintendent Dr. Matt Gibson. “She is an excellent communicator with a strong background in working with committees, boards, and media.”

“I’m pleased to be working for such an excellent school district,” said Mueller. “I have a passion for education and look forward to informing and engaging district stakeholders through effective communication.”

Mueller was most recently the Executive Director for the Funeral Service Foundation, a charitable arm of the National Funeral Directors Association in Brookfield. She was responsible for all administration and communication for the organization. Prior to that she held various positions in marketing, public relations and corporate communications. She holds a Journalism Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
