Did you see Biden pet Sarah Palin?

October 2, 2008 at 9:48 pm --by Cindy Kilkenny · 18 Comments

Oh, gag!

Yes, I watched. I had the tv muted and watched the body language. (And yes, I was yakking with a girlfriend at the time.) At the end, Joe Biden actually started to stroke Sarah Palin’s arm! I’ll try to find it and post a video.

In my opinion, that final action matches several instances where I swear he was leering at Palin.

Well, it’s your turn to talk about it.

Palin did really well this evening. I was surprised and pleased for her. But so did Biden. I think when tomorrow’s scores come out they’ll say that Biden won if ….. ‘if’ they had to pick a winner ….. or it was break even ….. BUT …. you’ll see the polls move back in favor of the GOP since Palin held her own tonight. Interesting.

Early poll on Drudge has it 74% –24% Palin ahead. Over 100,000 votes in 30 minutes.

My roommate and I had good laughs about how everyone wants to be disassociated with Bush. And then further where Biden said, upon several occasions, we’re doing exactly what Bush is doing now. One of them was about an Ambassador to the Middle East (concerning Palestine). I forget the other(s).

“Drudge has it 74%-24% Palin ahead. ”

Was the TV on mute over there too?

The title of this post actually reads: Did you see Palin fall flat on her face?

    1. I think it’s hilarious that the only thing Cindy had to say about the debate was that Biden “pet” her arm afterwards… thus Palin did a horrible job and there was nothing constructive or legit to talk about from a Fairly Conservative’s perspective.

    2. It’s funny that people see the debate as a victory for Palin based on the premiss that she didn’t fall flat on her face (as expected). So she was able to stand up at the podium, read directly from her notes, BS her way around most questions, & didn’t use a lifeline… now that’s impressive!

Essentially what we saw tonight was a seasoned MLB veteran hit a game winning grand slam & a AA back up catcher attempt to bunt for a base hit, but still manage to strike out.

    ….that’s what you saw Obama.

What America saw was, “….she was able to stand up at the podium, read directly from her notes, BS her way around most questions, & didn’t use a lifeline…”

That, O.M., means she and McCain won tonight.

P.S. I think we both saw something from tonight’s debate that America won’t talk about tommorrow…….Biden’s one hell of a V.P. candidate. I don’t give two rips which side of the aisle you are on.

Interesting comments Strupp …. I actually thought they both did really well … it would be interesting if it were a Biden- Palin ticket

Big day ahead folks. Morons in congress are back at it. They blew it Monday and made a bigger mess of our economy. Can’t recover from this lost week … and we’ll pay for this for the rest of our lives in terms of LOST INCOME … we’ll be in a recession …. but if they vote in favor of the senate bill we could avoid a depression…. let’s hope that Sensenboober has an awakening.

Right J. Strupp. Biden, who gets excited and has absolute lies fall from his lips, is a great Veep candidate. Thank God he survived his helicopter going down and the gunfire.

O’mama, you are become progressively crankier as this goes on. I know I’ll be able to watch this debate over and over again. Gratefully, I have a life, so I used a little bit of the time I was given last night to catch up with a friend and watched with the sound off. I’d say I have pretty reliable priorities.

Plus, I gave you the opportunity to embarrass yourself yet again out of the goodness of my own heart (and wallet.) Too bad you can’t put it all into perspective.

Greetings Son Number 2! Mommy loves you.

It seems to me that the Obama lovers have so much emotionally invested in this phony that if McCain/Palin win, they will exhibit more hatred than they have for the last eight years. I think McCain is making the same BIG mistakes that Bush has made…and that is trying to “make nice” with the people who despise him. I think it’s better to tell them to “kiss my butt if you don’t like it”. I think Americans like a fighter rather than a sap.

I don’t like any of these phony senator candidates, and I do like Palin, and I don’t know how I can possibly vote for McCain after he voted “yes” to this new even more pork-laden bailout of Wall Street. I think they are all lying about the dire straights, and I think Wall Street is making it look worse so they get bailed out and can preserve the riches for themselves. I say let the chips fall where they may and let the gamblers and deadbeats take their losses. Once Wall Street realizes that they have to fix the problems or take huge losses, they will move quickly to right the ship. I believe it’s all another scam of the taxpayers. Are we so dumb we don’t realize that the government printing another $850 billion of debt is a horrible idea? Don’t we realize that the government is broke and we are going to end up collapsing financially anytime the oil sheiks and China stop financing us? Things are bad…but not for the reasons we are told!

  • 10 J. Strupp // Oct 3, 2008 at 12:29 pm

Government is not just printing another $850 billion of debt. The money isn’t just evaporating like it is in the desert heat of Iraq.

I’m sure we are all familiar with the fundamentals of the bill by now.

  • 11 Grant // Oct 3, 2008 at 12:35 pm

“Government is not just printing another $850 billion of debt.”

Well, would you care to explain just exactly where the money is coming from if it’s not debt?

We can allow for mis-speaks. We can overlook exaggeration and fluffery. But I don’t want a Vice President that will look at the camera and America and just intentially flat out tell a lie, that he knows is a lie, to help his guy get elected. When Gov Palin pointed out Obama’s idiotic pledge to meet, without pre-conditions, the leaders of Cuba, Venezuela, N. Korea, Iran, and Syria Joe Biden did just that. He said, “that’s just simply not true about Barack Obama “.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSFSUbMWenU

And leadership. Yes, as a committee chairman in Congress Joe had opportunities to exhibit his leadership before the nation. Did you see the Bork and Thomas confirmation hearings he led–fiasco is too kind a description. But I do agree with you that “he makes a hell of a candidate.”
And Sarah Palin will make a hell of a Vice President.

[...] Cindy found a disturbing gesture from Joe Biden at the end of the debate. That would be at the 1:32 mark in the C-SPAN video. [...]

    ?????????????????????????????????????

“Plus, I gave you the opportunity to embarrass yourself yet again out of the goodness of my own heart (and wallet.) Too bad you can’t put it all into perspective.”

Cindy, I have absolutely no clue what in God’s name you are referring to here. You have never met me, and neither your heart nor wallet has provided me with any “opportunity”… care to elaborate, and apologize????????

  • 15 Cindy Kilkenny // Oct 4, 2008 at 2:06 pm

Well, Obama Mama, you’re ignorance is showing.

It’s MY Web site. It’s MY wallet that pays for the hosting that lets you babble at will. It’s MY editorial decision to let you stay.

Apologize for what? Letting you have enough rope?

  • 16 Obama Mama // Oct 4, 2008 at 2:20 pm

It seemed your first jab had an underlying meaning to it that wrongfully accused me…. that’s all ;)

  • 17 Cindy Kilkenny // Oct 4, 2008 at 3:34 pm

Nothing more than my $4 a month lets you scream your little liberal heart out any time you want.

It’s getting old, though, listening to you.

    Grant,

Your statements suggest that the U.S. government is giving an $850 billion handout. That’s false. The government will be purchasing mortgage-backed securities that they can re-sell in the future. We can go round and round about how much these securities will be worth in the long run but they will be worth something. My guess (JUST a guess) is somewhere between 40 and 80 cents on the dollar. Half a trillion dollars is a small price to pay for the long term damage inflicted of our financial system if we do nothing to fix the problem.

I find it ironic that fiscal restraint is all of the sudden an important topic among many conservatives right at the very moment that government spending is so important. In comparison, our foreign policy blunders over the last two decades make this bill look like pocket change.

At least we are getting a sizable return on investment in this case AND assisting the American taxpayer at the same time.
