Biden guarantees international crisis in six months if Obama elected

October 20, 2008 at 9:12 am --by Cindy Kilkenny · 19 Comments

ABC News is reporting that Joe Biden made the following statement at a fundraising event:

Mark my words,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

Can someone tell me why one would vote for a candidate where the VP guarantees the worst for America?

Senator Chia Pet compares The Messiah to JFK. Hmmm. Makes me channel Lord Bentsen to Dan Quayle for some reason: “Senator, I knew Jack Kennedy. jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator (Obama) you’re no Jack Kennedy.”

Any crisis will be solved in swift fashion. BO will consult with the euros and the UN guaranteeing success.

Biden just can’t help his diarrea of the mouth. You’d think the guy would just retreat into his “undisclosed location” for the next couple weeks. Especially when his boy just needs to put it on autopilot until the 4th.

    Typical Biden.

An idiot one heartbeat away from the presidency. Oops, I thought this thread was about Sarah Palin.

It really makes me feel nice and safe knowing that Barack will just sit down and talk this imminent crisis out of existence.

This is almost as bad as magically raising the terror alert to red, 2 weeks before the election.

Which hasn’t happened, so again, I don’t get your point.

  • 8 J. Strupp // Oct 20, 2008 at 1:11 pm

No. It happened 3 months before the 2004 election though.

My point is that the use of politically charged doomsday predictions before an election is all too common.

It might be the Biden mouth that will be generating the crisis.

    J Strupp
It was raised on Aug 1st, 2004, 3 months before the election. Raised to Code Orange, not red, and only raised in parts of NYC, NJ, and Washington D.C. It was in response to ‘chatter’ that an attempt on US commerce may be attempted.

Thank you for clarifying my incorrect color.

    “chatter”

    O.K. sure.

I think whoever gets in will get tested by somebody or some event. It’s only logical with everything that goes on in the world that something would be a “test.”

This is the ‘brilliant’ US Senator who’s not sure if there are 57 or 58 states in America being pumped up by another US Senator who thinks jobs is a 3 letter word. I also agree with Peter that Obama is no Kennedy yet I expect voters in Cook County will vote emphatically and often for Obama as they did for Kennedy.

Rumor has it that those who plan Obama’s campaign, most likely all of whom will be appointed to some high post in an Obama administration, held a meeting in Chicago a little over a week ago. The purpose was to plot ways to preserve the lead Obama held in the polls and provide advice to all campaign speakers as to what to say–and not say in the weeks leading up to election day. After an extended discussion of numerous points it was unanimously agreed there were two areas to avoid. No one should discuss or bring up Barack’s socialist leanings such as “spreading the wealth around” and certainly do not mention anything about the security of the country or that some foreign power might test an Obama administration to test it’s mettle. Feeling good about their conclusions, they sent these instructions to all who might speak for the campaign, excepting the candidates who of course would know better, and went back to their duties.

    “Rumor has it ….”

    ’nuff said.

    Waukesha mom—It’s called sarcasm.
    On another subject

It looks like Wisconsin is getting it’s 15 minutes lately. A Racine school district has a text book new this year with a chapter on Barack Obama. I haven’t read it and don’t know what it contains but I bet I know the parts of his life and certain people he aligned himself with that it doesn’t contain.
