Here’s the statement according to the AP:

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama says he didn’t know that one of his relatives was living in the United States illegally and believes the appropriate laws should be followed.

I missed earlier that she was living in public housing. As in subsidized.

Not legally here, living off the government. Heck, sounds like she’s doing everything she can to demonstrate Obama’s new America.

What I still don’t get is why he had such little contact with a woman that he put in such a prominent position in his first memoir.
