Paving the way for 12 more years of President Putin?

From the New York Times:

As a bill extending Russia’s presidency to six years from four barreled through the Russian legislature on Friday, it fell to the old-timers from the Communist Party to put up a fight.

The longer presidential term would apply to Mr. Medvedev only if he were re-elected, and speculation abounded that he was paving the way for his powerful predecessor, Prime Minister Vladimir V. Putin, to return to the presidency — perhaps before Mr. Medvedev’s four years are up.

And the Russian sheeple said, “Baaaaa.”

Maybe they’re related to those in NYC who voted to do away with term limits placed by voters in 1993.
