Best post-Thanksgiving soup ever

Yes, I have a queen of leftovers crown. Some years are better than others, but this year was a big score. On this snowy Sunday, the family is slurping down a Thanksgiving leftover soup.

In went the mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, four cups of broth (don’t worry if it congeals) from the turkey, the leftover gravy, half an onion and a few carrots, and the leftover dark meat from the turkey. (I didn’t add the stuffing because it had grapes and cranberries. Had it been the sausage variety, it would have gone in, too.)

Out came the best soup I’ve made in months.

So how did your leftovers fare this holiday?

  1. I’ve been distracted and not around for a while … hope everyone had a nice holiday.

I’ve gained 5lbs from the holiday – this is NOT a good thing.

I just did a 2 mile walk in the snow …. I seriously fear that I will not be able to go to Hooters for wings unless I lose that 5lbs.

    Happy Holidays!

  2. Wilson828 – the likelihood that you gained 5 lbs of fat from one day of eating is pretty slim (no pun intended, ok so it is). Its probably just a couple salty servings of turkey gravy and stuffing leading to some retained water. You’ll probably pee it out over the next few days! But keeping walking, its good for you.
