So what is the world’s most famous community organizer up to this time?

I received this a few minutes ago:

Cindy —

Sign up for a house meeting Exactly one month ago, you made history by giving all Americans a real opportunity for change.

Now it’s time to start preparing and working for change in our communities.

On December 13th and 14th, supporters are coming together in every part of the country to reflect on what we’ve accomplished and plan the future of this movement. Your ideas and feedback will be collected and used to guide this movement in the months and years ahead.

Join your friends and neighbors — sign up to host or attend a Change is Coming house meeting near you.

Since the election, the challenges we face — and our responsibility to take action — have only gotten more urgent.

You can connect with fellow supporters, make progress on the issues you care about, and help shape the future of your community and our country.

Learn what you can do now to support President-elect Obama’s agenda for change and continue to make a difference in your community.

To get our country back on track, it will take all of us working together.

Barack and Joe have a clear agenda and an unprecedented opportunity for change. But they can’t do it alone.

Will you join us at a house meeting and help plan the next steps for this movement?

Thanks,

David

There is something very different going on this time. Anyone know his game well enough to anticipate what’s up?

  1. Tinkerbell says:

Don’t such meetings need to be held in public places, open to all, advertised and publicized, and be subject to open records laws? Anyone want to get a qualified opinion? Possibily bring this to JB Van Hollen’s attention?

  2. In case you can’t attend a meeting in person –

“On December 13th and 14th, supporters are coming together in every part of the country to reflect on what we’ve accomplished and plan the future of this movement.”

    What we’ve accomplished – Nothing

Plan for the future – Hope and Change

“Learn what you can do now to support President-elect Obama’s agenda for change and continue to make a difference in your community.”

Give up your freedom, economic and otherwise, and write checks, lots of checks, to the government treasury.

  3. Geez, Tink, get a grip. JB van Goodhair is still busy looking for terrorists in Polk County. Open meetings law doesn’t have anything to do with Party or Campaign organizing get-togethers.

Cindy, let me know when you’re hosting. If the weather is nice I’ll drive over.

  4. Tinkerbell says:

    Dear grumps,

Please realize that this is not the way political parties have organized, and neither was the election campaign organized this way. This is a departure from the norm and it is a positive that it does not go unnoticed.

The campaign is over – the election campaign – that is. What “Campaign” is the DNC trying to organize on behalf of it’s elected official… from the top down… while misrepresenting it as a spontaneous grassroots effort (from the bottom up)? Please note the DNC is requiring people to register. This may be a slippery slope to secret meetings by a governing body.

Will registered strangers be invited into registered hosts homes? At what point does safety become an issue? At what point is a quasi-social event in one’s home no longer under their control? At what point is a person obligated and cannot easily say “no” without imposed difficulty?

Perhaps the anticipated economic “change” that will follow such meetings will be: vouchers for cars, jobs, food, IF you are a good Party loyalist.

Please read more about the growth of the Nazi party in Europe and you may realize I have a grip.

  5. Randy in Richmond says:

” Learn what you can do now to support Pres. Elect Obama’s agenda” is the key phrase in the email. Whatever this specifically turns out to be is the objective of these meetings. You can be sure part of it will be asking for donations to the DNC. I predict these meetings will not be well attended but the MSM will make it appear that they were.

  6. Cindy, I’m not expected to humor Tink’s fantasies, am I? She needs a cool washcloth and a nap.

Every candidate, every party has had these types of get-togethers. The timing may be different but I think the expression is, “strike while the iron is hot.”

  7. Tinkerbell says:

    Dear grumps,
You may whistle in the dark all you like but we are not convinced until you sign up to host a get-together yourself. When your walk matches your talk we’ll believe you are convinced these meetings are a good thing.

You would have probably laughed at Noah even as the rain started to fall.

What iron is hot? BO won by a slender margin… some of which was admittedly voter fraud.

There is a reason for the saying, “History repeats itself”. There is also a reason for the saying, “The Masses are Asses”.

Excuse me while I take a nap, your posts have become so boring… zzz-ZZZ-zzz-ZZZ-zzz…

  8. Actually grumps, the first thing that came to mind when I read it was the birth of the Nazi party in Germany and the eventual death of the Communist party in Russia. In both situations the need for community based ‘loyalists’ was high. They were a place for the party recruiting to take place, they kept watch for insolent detractors and they put a local flavour onto the party message. Not that far fetched at all. Now while you claim that all presidential winners do this, I disagree. I have never seen consumerism and idolatry taken to the heights this president elect is allowing. I do not believe that there is any president that has put so much into coins, mugs, shirts, plates, underwear, trinkets, and all the other things that Obama has. These are not the limited “yay we won” types of things either. These are commemorative items to the one and only Obama. I guess you don’t see it because you are in the middle of it but I find the whole thing very creepy.

  9. Richard, it’s creepy indeed. I hope the whole concept lands BO on his backside. America’s too lazy to perform now that his give aways have disappeared.

Grumps, you are so on your own here. I’m sure you’ll manage.

  10. Tinkerbell says:

How time flies! The date for these first house meetings has come and gone. Has anyone seen, heard, or read anything about them occurring? Anyone attend one? Care to update us?

I’ve heard or read nothing on this subject.
