Hi All –

Are you looking for a little stocking stuffer for that husband of yours? I’ve got a great idea! [My husband’s] poker club has published a “cookbook” for men. It is really more than just a cookbook. It is more like a book about poker with some hardy recipes thrown in for good measure. It is actually a great book for the guy in your life – information about how to play poker, different types of poker games, how to start your own poker club, food to serve, drinks to make and some truisms about poker. The books are $15/ea. or 3/$40. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired Children, which is their pet charity. To date, the group has raised over $20,000 for the center through various fundraising events. This is their first attempt at a cookbook…and I have to say, it is both funny and informational. Check out some of the testimonials below. If you are interested, let me know…I would be happy to drop a book or two off at your house.

“I’ve got this thing and it’s (expletive) golden,” says Illinois Governor on recent purchase of Collected Wisdom for Neighborhood Degenerates. “I’m just not giving it up for (expletive) nothing. I’m not gonna do it.”

“I understand the books are worth every penny and the profits go for a good cause, but money is just a little tight right now.” New York Yankees Left Hander CC Sabathia.

“Are you kidding me?! As if I don’t put up with enough of your $&%@. Now, you want to write a book of ‘life lessons’ to warp other husbands and their view of the world? If you have all this extra time available, why don’t you cut the grass once? Go clean the garage, flush the toilet every now and again. Of all the lame brain ideas! Who’s going to buy this book? Did you even think of that?! Of course not. God, I married a complete loser.” Unidentified Wife of a Club Member

“The book has been a terrific distraction for me after the loss of Brett, our defense, and any semblance of home field advantage at Lambeau.” Mike McCarthy

“It was inevitable. Once I began enjoying the recipes in Collected Wisdom, I knew my will power would falter and I would once again exceed 200 pounds. What the book taught me, however, is that there is more to life than dieting, moderation, and good sense. Degenerates Unite!” Oprah

(Please keep in mind the testimonials are tongue in cheek!)
