Caroline Kennedy removes her name from NY Senator appointment (maybe not?)

That’s what Lou Dobbs just said. I’ll see if I can find a link soon.

Here you go.

Update – 7:55pm – NBC says it ain’t so. Aaaargh! If I cared it would be really frustrating!

  1. Randy in Richmond says:

Oh yea, it’s true. When she found out she wasn’t going to be appointed, she withdrew. And rest assured the way the Democrats operate this will elevate her to new heights with them. They reward failure.
Cindy, sorry to hear you watch NBC.

  2. Actually it was CNBC, the only financial channel I get.

  3. Randy in Richmond says:

Caroline gave personal reasons for withdrawing from the appointment race. I suspect there are at least 100 million of them that the sunshine laws in NY would require her to reveal about her personal finances.

  4. Wilson828 says:

Yeah I don’t disagree – this was a slide into office based on the royal family name. She isn’t at all qualified and so she found out she wasn’t going to be appointed and then she retreats to never be heard from again in politics.

  5. I am glad she withdrew. Are we finally finished with the Kennedy’s?

What we will never know is, was it her lack of qualifications that did her in, or her unprecedented frequency of salting her speech with the phrase, you know, that made her unacceptable? You know? 🙂

  6. I really like the rumor that the NY governor’s office set the rumor flying as a nice way of giving her the bump.

    Ah, politics.

  7. Randy in Richmond says:

Lots of juicy, new rumors here but can’t be confirmed yet.

  8. Oh, you mean like the affair with the publisher of the NY Times?

  9. Randy in Richmond says:

Yea, that and possible tax problems, as well as pumped up ‘qualifications’ related to working and experience. But as far as I can tell it hasn’t been confirmed.

  10. Me? I think she was pressured into running and didn’t really ever want it all that badly.

But even if she did, she didn’t deserve it. We have no room for nepotism in this, or any other republic.
