Need your adrenaline fix for the day?

Listen to this from CNN as a pilot calmly proclaims his plane is going into the Hudson.

  1. Wow. Just…..oh…wow. I’ve got chicken skin.

  2. Yep. That was my response.

  3. Randy in Richmond says:

My goodness. I don’t need to watch 24 for a while. Not only the pilots but that air-controller was so calm and professional. What a riveting recording- thanks Cindy.

  4. Yes the captain is a hero – but there are plenty of people in “life-saving” roles every day (Police, Firefighters, military, health professionals) that are calm and collected on their job.

When was the last time you saw national news coverage of an EMT jumping out of an ambulance at a 4 car pile-up and calmly proceeding to triage and administer care to hurt people? Then replicate that over 7 days a week, 24 hours day, 365 days a year. Without “freaking out”.

Pilot is no doubt a good guy, but he was doing what he was trained to do.

  5. Randy in Richmond says:

Sorry Dan, you can’t rain on my parade.

  6. Oh, Im stormin’ Randy. How many lives do you think are saved by EMTs every day in this country? Far more than Sully’s Survivors. The guy deserves a pat on the back, not a media circus.

  7. Dan, chillax! Your point is well taken, but this one time we get a recording of the whole thing. Just because others aren’t lauded doesn’t mean Sully should be ignored.
