Resolving the House and Senate stimulus bills

The Wall Street Journal gives you the details.

H/T: Letters in Bottles

  1. Ha… there’s more money in this bill to build wireless broadband/ internet in rural communities than there is to improve flood control…. Remember these same dems demonizing Bush over Katrina – years later the internet is suddenly more important than flooding. Idiots.

  2. “End the Practice of Writing Legislation Behind Closed Doors: As president, Barack Obama will restore the American people’s trust in their government by making government more open and transparent. Obama will work to reform congressional rules to require all legislative sessions, including committee mark-ups and conference committees, to be conducted in public. By making these practices public, the American people will be able to hold their leaders accountable for wasteful spending and lawmakers won’t be able to slip favors for lobbyists into bills at the last minute.”

Any surprise that Dems shut the doors for the final conference on the spendulus bill?

  3. Darn, Dan, that’s a good one!

  4. Ok ok I stole it from drudge…

    Sorry Matt.

  5. Well thanks for coming clean.

  6. Bless him. He had “reservations.”

Hey, Dan, shouldn’t you be studying or something? You’ve been hanging out a lot the last couple of days.

  7. Randy in Richmond says:

Does anyone know how the Stimulus Bill will provide a $900 tax cut to an “average” family? I haven’t seen any info on that and I’m curious.

  8. I figure if the government is going to run health care soon anyway, I don’t really need to STUDY medicine – when my patients come in I’ll just call Washington for the proper diagnosis and treatment….

Its the week after exams, Cindy! Give me a break!
