Reading the Sunday paper, 4/26/09

“Glancing through” the Sunday paper might be a more accurate title. I didn’t put my heart into it. Here are a few things I noticed:

–Our love affair with NYC Archbishop Timothy Dolan continues as there’s another story and another photo on his transition to the Big Apple.

–Paul Ryan picked up about 20 minutes of fame with a front page story.

–There’s a charming photo on the front page of the Waukesha section of a family who donated a log cabin to Old World Wisconsin. (I think FC needs a field trip to Old World sometime this summer.)

–Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas has suddenly decided he might be able to make efficiencies in county government. Yes, there’s room. There’s always room, but most local governments don’t want to admit it and save the news for a grandstanding day.

I was a little taken aback by the number of times Vrakas referred to the acting Public Works department head by her first name. For some reason, that bugged me.

and my favorite story of the day…

—The doggy yoga classes being held around here have a waiting list.

Just when you think you’ve about heard it all, doggy yoga pops up to remind you how life in Milwaukee must be exceptionally good.

  1. I’ll bet they’re really, really good at Downward Dog.

  2. You made me laugh. Good job!
