Saffron Indian Bistro closes in Brookfield

It’s sister restaurant, Taste of India in the town of Brookfield, confirmed the news today.

I’m bummed. Though the restaurants were owned by the same people, I liked Saffron’s food better. It was a family favorite.

  1. Nooo! Now where will I go for my Butter Chicken? I’ve tried making it at home from a pre-prepared sauce, but it’s just not the same.

  2. Ah, gee, Roxanne. What’s the one food in the world I think I can’t live without now that you’ve mentioned it?

I found a couple of recipes on the internet, but haven’t given it a try yet. Maybe Taste of India will change the menu to incorporate some of the Saffron favorites? It was first explained to me the restaurants cooked from separate regions, but maybe that’s not correct.

  3. Wellllll…that’s what they told us. But Saffron was very accomodating when I asked for something off the menu. It wasn’t their region, but they made it. Maybe Taste of India would do the same.

And don’t forget Tandoor on Highway 100–really excellent food.
