An observation about Democrats and Republicans

I’ve come to understand what Ronald Reagan saw when he conveyed his famous 11th commandment:

“Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”

You see, I think Democrats unite to stand against the Man. Republicans bicker and dance around trying to establish an alpha male and then hope HE can take on the Man. (I used male on purpose.)

I’ve found a poster boy to represent this situation. Maybe someday I’ll photoshop an example.

  1. Yup.

  2. You know, with all due respect to the Gipper, Republicans use the 11th commandment as an excuse. There’s certainly no shortage of private backbiting and some public discourse might actually help…

  3. Agreed. I’ve said so myself. It’s just that I’ve landed in the sight of another conservative blogger and it’s getting a little weary…

I can think of one other time when I’ve done the same, so I guess I’ll be quiet now.

  4. I think it’s the opposite! Republicans usually present a united front while Democrats bicker and engage in self-doubt and handwringing.

I admit, however, that the water has become pretty muddy since the presidential election. You now see much more of this on the R side than previously. But I don’t know that Democrats are making much progress on being united.
