Fairly Conservative

To a sufficient degree; in an evenhanded manner.

Good morning Brookfield, Wednesday July 8th

I’m still trying to figure out if today’s my trash day since a holiday fell on a Saturday. One neighbor obviously thinks so as last week’s spoilage is on the driveway already. I’m thinking today’s the day, so I better get it all out there.

My parents bought me a new garden cart for my birthday (which really isn’t until the end of the month) so the older version with a broken wheel and cracked bin are headed to the curb. It was a most excellent birthday choice.

The youngest appears to be managing the post-surgical pain well. There is all sorts of contraband in the house right now. Puddings, ice cream, real yogurt with sugar AND fat. What can I say. When we convalesce, we do it in style.

I’ve been told a 4th district Alderman is actually asking questions in his district after this post. Well done.

It’s still a good idea to gather a better understanding of the flood prone areas in Brookfield, so that project stays on the list. And for what it’s worth, the excuse that too much rain fell in too short of time is overused. It’s “get ‘er done” for Brookfield’s flooding issues. Anything less will leave the city looking poorly prior to a mayoral election.

And we wouldn’t want that now, would we?
