Mrs. Kilkenny, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me you are not taking the birth certificate issue SERIOUSLY with your sneaky little comment, or you have lost all credibility with me.
Yes, I think it’s a problem or he wouldn’t be working so hard to hide it all. I can get my hands on my certified copy in about two minutes. Why can’t he?
You know I’d take care of you like one of my own, Jimbo, but we get to disagree here. We’ll survive.
Since I think laughter is the best medicine, here’s an amusing story off The Daily Show that looks into the media frenzy on this non-issue. Good look at how silly CNN can be.
Not much you say or do will change my mind. I can put a picture of my birth certificate up that makes me look like I’m 39. And no, it’s not really a conspiracy theory, it’s a failure of an elected leader to prove his eligibility. It’s not that hard. I don’t know why he won’t do it and put it all to rest.
Here’s a website that provides not only a scanned image, but multiple angles and looks at the birth certificate. In addition, it has been stated that Hawaii’s Department of Health confirmed the authenticity of his birth in Honolulu.
It depends about his mom being American. I’ve heard a couple of arguments – her age at his birth and resigning his US citizenship past the age of 18 to obtain an Indonesian passport – which muddies the issue. There are so many ideas out there it’s hard to wade through them. You can bet the lower his numbers go the more this will heat up as an issue.
Like I said, if he’d just lay it all on the line, it would be solved. He’s sealed his birth certificate, he’s sealed his college records – what’s the guy got to hide? I can provide both immediately without shame.
BTW, Snopes can be good for some things, but they are a biased setup when it comes to BHO and some other partisan issues.
I have a feeling that even if Obama visited you personally, after flying out to Hawaii to retrieve an original that they normally never provide to you anyway, that you would still be convinced it is a forgery and/or that it should be invalid because of the ADDITIONAL conspiracy theories regarding his mother you gleefully accept and spread to make this country a more bitter, partisan place simply because the right lost woefully in the last election. It’s silly things like this that would explain such an epic fail.
Even my own copy of a birth certificate (generated for my overseas trips for security) is merely a copy provided by Cook Country that “serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding.” My original will always remain in Cook Country, and I should not have to demand it be presented to the public when a legal copy of it can LEGALLY do the exact same thing. Not to mention the Hawaii department of health has ALREADY CONFIRMED for the world his birth in Honolulu. Is Hawaii in on this as well?
What in the world do school records have to do with anything? They are protected under federal privacy laws. I have no more right to view your grades than you do his.
Why would he risk his entire presidency on such a lie? Much less, why is this an issue for him in particular? Why is nobody arguing about the eligibility for other presidents or candidates?
My challenge: Provide a single shred of –evidence– from any source that PROVES that Obama or his constituents are instituting a cover-up of his TRUE self that I will not be able to debunk easily. If you or anyone else cannot meet this challenge, then you must accept yourselves as naively promoting a non-issue.
If Obama and I flew together to Hawaii to get his certificate and I was standing at the counter when they handed it over, that would suffice. It doesn’t have to be me, though, let it be George Bush. That would do it.
Then we could jet around the country and pick up all of those college records no one can see.
Jim, one trades off privacy to be the leader of the free world. Hell, I traded off privacy to be an Alderman. Would he risk it all? Yes. Read his book and see how it could happen.
Some lies get bigger than the realities on which they are based. People forge their resumes all the time.
The only evidence I could ever have is the evidence he is hiding. It’s a stalemate. But as long as he allows it to continue, it will cripple him. History is full of imposters to power. They usually have a nasty end.
Except we forget that, like many other states, the Hawaiian records have become electronic. Therefore, the certification document that you reject as being false is the document that is used to prove citizenship within the state and nation. It is implied that the original may no longer exist, along with the paper originals of all other Hawaiian born citizens.
This clearly states that the state is no longer maintaining microfilms or originals, and as section 5 states, “A photograph, microphotograph, [or] reproduction on film, or electronic copy of a government record
shall be deemed to be an original record for all purposes, including introduction in
evidence in all courts or administrative agencies.”
My “some web site” source you are discrediting is directly from the Star Bulletin based in Honolulu.
Other news agencies, including CNN, have recently concluded that they have found nothing to imply Obama is not a U.S. citizen. If any news agency were to find out otherwise, it would clearly be gold for them. No agency has been successful.
Nobody has whistleblown, which I find surprising since this is apparently such a widespread non-issue.
You know, being curious and cautious on this issue doesn’t make me a nutter. I wish we had something in place to vouch for eligibility when running, but we don’t. Still, it would be easier to follow this president if he didn’t insist upon being such a man of mystery.
Did I mention his Kenyan grandmother vouches to attending his birth in Kenya? Now how can you hear something like that and not wonder, “what?”
I like how the article opens to point out the media’s quest to destroy Sarah Palin…then goes on to the “birthers” subject.
Some problems I have with this article from an openly conservative newspaper:
********************************
“Try that at the DMV when they ask for a birth certificate: What are you, some kind of crazy birther? I TOLD you I was born in California!”
–Certificate of birth is legal evidence, as noted previously many times.
********************************
********************************
“Lou Dobbs at CNN has been challenging the president to produce his birth certificate.”
–CNN concluded there is no evidence that he is not a U.S. born citizen.
********************************
********************************
“Representative John Campbell (R-CA) co-sponsored a bill that would require future presidents to provide a copy of their birth certificates, which has liberals howling.”
–Only because they are introducing this bill, pretending Obama is not the issue, while winking at birthers to continue believing. After appearing on Hardball, he was demanded to answer the question on whether he was legally qualified to be president. His “wink-wink” response? “As far as I know.”

“Jim Meyers at Newsmax put together a handy list”
–My moment of Zen, Mrs. Kilkenny
********************************
Sarah Obama’s “confession” of attending his Kenyan birth was generated by evangelist Ron McRae, who then tried to use an altered transcript as evidence to prove Barack Obama is not a U.S. citizen. Pretty sure this case went nowhere. The full and complete audio and transcript are available on numerous websites, and a reprint of the full transcript with analysis is available through Hulu publishing (although it has been purchased and readily replicated in order to dispel this myth):
MCRAE: OK I’m sorry. I, I thought she said she was present when he was
born. I was—
TRANSLATOR OGOMBE (sounding exasperated): No, no! The, the
woman was not present. She was uh not, a what–you see, she was here in
Kenya, and Obama was born in America. That is, that’s obvious.30
Here is the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania’s decision to dismiss Philip Berg’s affidavit, who was using the “Sarah Obama tape” as key evidence.
Jim, you believe what you want to believe. I still don’t know for sure. All of your typing won’t change my mind. (I love how you get to quote any source you want, but the one I put up – even though Canadian – is “openly conservative.”)
If you’d read the book Jim you’d find Barack Obama has no problem fictionalizing his life. He admits to combining events and people to create a story. The man has little verifiable history.
Aside from my jokes regarding the issue (Daily Show Video, Fake Certificate), I attempted to use as many non-partisan sources as possible.
-Factcheck.org (non-partisan and non-profit)
-Snopes.com (although I see how it can be seen as having a bias)
-hawaii.gov (Hawaii state government website)
-starbulletin.com (Primary newspaper of Hawaii)
-paed.uscourts.gov (U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania)
-A publication on the Sarah Obama matter, sold electronically through Hulu publications
The evidence is overwhelming, and credible. And I am sure there is more I haven’t shared. I just think it’s a little far fetched to simply IGNORE everything I wrote and willfully believe in such a theory without accepting any of these sources.
In contrast, your sources:
-Obama’s book (yet it is not clear how you are using this against him and I cannot verify it)
-canadafreepress.com (Even says in the title “online conservative newspaper”)
–Gets its source from…
—–Newsmax Media (started by conservative investors, right-leaning media bias…quoted as “most influential Republican-leaning media outlet” in the nation)
I have provided 6 sources (5 if you reject Snopes as having a bias, which I’ll give to you) to your 1 or 2.
No one is ignoring you Jim. It’s still not an airtight defense to me. What? You expect me to kneel before you and beg your forgiveness for my opinion? I don’t think so.
It also could be the fact that I have had different life experiences that have, over time, contributed to beliefs that lead towards the left. Regardless of left or right viewpoints, there is clearly more factual evidence of the “birther” issue as being, well, not factual…at all.
I should ask someone we both know who took the plunge from right to left…who went as far as assisting with the Obama campaign…it’s kinda mystified me still.

Two articles by everybody’s favorite debunking website, Snopes.
Barack Obama does not qualify as a natural-born citizen of the U.S. because his mother was too young. FALSE.

A Certification of Live Birth document provided by the Obama campaign is a forgery. FALSE.

At 3:24, after countless Republican congressman refuse to provide a yes/no answer on the birther issue, Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) says:
YES, HE IS AN AMERICAN BORN CITIZEN. And explains why he has concluded this, after his own office went through an investigative process.
While he disagrees with many of Obama’s stances and is disappointed with how he has handled things, he has no doubt he is an American citizen.
At least there’s one honest lawmaker down in D.C. willing to quell this birther issue.
