She wore what?

Here’s the First Lady of the United States exiting Westminster Abbey. As in – a church. As in, my goodness, they let her out of the house? The photo’s a few weeks old, but it’s still newsworthy.

  1. Oh come on, according to time magazine, she is the most stylish women in the world.

  2. My Barbies were much better dressed, and I made most of that myself!

  3. Michelle O is supposed to be our Jackie O? We need to change the spelling to Michelle OH!

  4. Typical no-class garb to go with her $550 tennis shoes that we paid for while eating her $489 lobster snack that we also paid for…all while she says in perfect Obama-ese “America gonna have to tighten they belt”…..

Jackie O is turning in her grave…

  5. Looks like eating out has added a few pounds.

  6. Even the guy behind her can’t stop smirking. I cannot believe they tried to glamorize her so much. Ick!

  7. That’s one ugly outfit.

  8. I forgot about the ugly, expensive shoes, KarenP. I’m thinking those $550 sneakers would have completed the outfit.

The other thing I cannot believe is that she wore that to Westminster Abbey. It seems disrespectful.

I was wrong to call her Michelle OH! It should be Michelle Oh-oh!

  9. Oh, come on. I don’t care for the outfit either, but it’s not a big deal. It was a tourist visit, not a worship service or an audiance with the archbishop. It is not disrespectful. And for what its worth, the full-length shot looks better than the cropped one.

  10. The Lorax says:

Think again, Kyle. Sandra Oh might not be too happy with that name. 🙂

  11. It IS a big deal. The “it’s no big deal” attitude is why we’re seeing people wear torn blue jeans to weddings and funerals these days. IT’S DISRESPECTFUL!! And the First Lady of this country should dress the part.

  12. It wasn’t a wedding or a funeral. It wasn’t a religious service at all. It was a private tour (not a state visit) of an historic site in dress pants and a tunic.

  13. And the first lady of this nation should show proper respect for a place that is important to the nation in which it is located. Her outfit was disgraceful – something that should be worn by a 12 year old at school.

  14. Randy in Richmond says:

My question is would she wear something like that to an old, historical mosque is a Muslim country?

  15. Bingo!

  16. The Lorax says:

Seems to me lots of people wear that on tours. What do you folks wear? Full suits? A native wouldn’t wear that to a mosque. But a native would wear that to the abbey.

    It’s a no-brainer.

  17. Randy in Richmond says:

Since it’s a no-brainer perhaps you can provide a link showing ‘any’ First Lady on a like type of tour similarly dressed.
What we wear is irrelevent–we aren’t representing America on the level of the first family.
And she’s not a native in England and I don’t think she would be be a native at most mosques.
