Watching Jim Doyle’s press conference

I’m watching old news waiting for the Governor to grace us. I’ll be updating this when he starts.

Herrrrre’s Jimmy!

He starts with a giggle about misspelling the word “succeed” in the spelling bee at the grade school auditorium.

It’s official. He’s not running for a third term.

He and his wife have always planned for a two-term commitment. He believes a Governor should self-limit to two terms. Most governors have two-term limits. This has largely been the tradition in Wisconsin.

He’s won seven state-wide races in the last few years: two primaries and five final races.

He wants to give other candidates the time they need to develop good campaigns.

He wants to use the next year and a half to get a lot done.

List of things he’s done.
1) Every child in Wisconsin can have health care insurance.
2) Lifted QEO.
3) Great Lakes compact plus reduce pollutants.
4) Unprecedented tools for jobs creation.
5) Workers get to breath clean and smoke free air.
6) Committed couples can share basic human rights.
7) An autistic child can be treated under his or her parent’s insurance.
8) Set a path for clean and renewable energy.

(No commentary. That’s what the man said.)

List of things yet to do: (Ooops. Sidetracked. Didn’t catch all of this.)

Let’s get to work and On Wisconsin.

That’s it’s folks.

Comments

  1. 1) Every child in Wisconsin can have health care insurance.

A real tingle – left out every taxpayer can contibute

    2) Lifted QEO.

    Teacher’s union is overjoyed.

    3) Great Lakes compact plus reduce pollutants.

Wisconsin will probably get the short end of the stick in the long run since only part of Wisconsin is “basin” while all of Michigan is.

    4) Unprecedented tools for jobs creation.

I’m glad my lunch was already digested when I read this.

    5) Workers get to breath clean and smoke free air.

Except for the CO2 produced by our pols.

    6) Committed couples can share basic human rights.

Committed couples can share our tax money.

    7) An autistic child can be treated under his or her parent’s insurance.

    tingle number 2.

Set a path for clean and renewable energy.

Is the same path that the choo-choo is going to run?

  2. He wants his “Clean Wisconsin Commish” agenda enacted, which should pretty damn well be the End of Wisconsin.

Let’s hope that is as dead as his Administration is.
