A Picture is Worth…

Over the weekend I read an article about Annie Leibovitz, the famous photographer, and the trouble her personal financial affairs are in. Not earth shattering news but as a very amateur picture taker I found it interesting how for some there apparently just isn’t enough money–regardless. In December Leibovitz floated a loan of $24 million against her personal photo collection and the loan is due next month. Rumor has it she doesn’t have the ability to take care of the loan and may have to give up her personal collection which some estimate at having a value of $50 million. Some simple math shows this loan to have been worth about $88,000 a day for the nine months of it’s term.

Imagine going out to get the paper each morning for nine months and inside each is a check for $88,000 to get your finances straight–and it isn’t enough. And if the estimates are correct she’s still ahead by roughly $26 million.

  1. Unbelievable! I could live on $88,000 a day.
