  1. Wilson earned his rebuke.

Rangel has probably earned the boot, and he can take Pelosi with him.

    Kathryn
I agree with your conclusions but question the time-frame.

  3. Sorry. I only read this morning that Mr. Rangel seems unable to manage his empire in a lawful manner, and I quit listening to the man years ago. I can’t even remember what he said to offend me at the time.

  4. Happens all the time. Little quibbles about politicians going free are frankly, stupid. Politicians of all stripes get off.

Randy, can I ask you a question? Do you think David Vitter is a man of family values? Is hiring a prostitute legal?

  5. Randy in Richmond says:

I don’t know David Vitter. And I’m not sure what a ‘family man’ is as I suspect it has different meanings to different people. For instance, I am divorced and some might say because of that I cannot be a ‘family man’.
And unlike Jimmy Carter I will not postulate about someone’s character I do not know.

Other than in certain jurisdictions it is unlawful to hire a prostitute in the US. I have watched “Cops.” As an employer I suspect it is not unlawful to hire a prostitute for certain positions. (sorry)

  6. But you do postulate on Charlie Rangel’s?

  7. Randy in Richmond says:

Only the charges against him–not him. And these charges are based on information he provided. Rangel is 79 years old. I suspect he has cut a deal with the leadership to retire at some date in the future if the investigation is stretched out.

  8. Congressional approval ratings don’t mean much to me. When the rubber meets the road–the election–incumbents are usually voted back in. This tells me that people hate Congress but love their own Congress person.
