Fairly Conservative

To a sufficient degree; in an evenhanded manner.

Remember when it was announced the 2010 Census would be run out of the Obama White House instead of the Department of Commerce as it had been done previously. Apparently having a black President allows for more diversity in choices for the question involving one’s race. Those of black descent have three choices for the question as shown below:

I expect in certain quarters the third choice will not be received very well.

    Question Number 9.

(Darn it! I was going to write about this later today. I had the page open and everything!)
(Double darn it. Yes, I’m up. The dog decided it was time.)

When I entered this post I had no idea Senate Leader Harry Reid played a major role in the design of the Census Bureau’s form, especially question Number 9. And further events of this weekend haved helped clear up any misconception we conservatives might have had about how to address a person with dark skin. This is the same Harry Reid who just last week said that ‘those who oppose his healthcare bill were akin to those who opposed slavery.’

What we can conclude from this is that the PC protocol on racism applies only to, say, people like Trent Lott or Don Imus, but not to well placed Democrats. This is the same protocol that excuses sexial proclivities for liberals but screams double standard for conservatives doing the same activity. Thankfully we now have the internet and some cable networks that shine light on this foolishness and the American people can decide for themselves.

These and similar actions also define a party out of touch with America but quite in tune with their own elitist spirit.

Wow. I’d love a link on Reid’s work on the census form.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

“I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words. I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments,” Reid said in a statement released after the excerpts were first reported on the Web site of The Atlantic.

There is a sarcastic assumption here.

It’s very similar to Joe Biden’s quip in 2007″I mean, you’ve got the first sort of mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a story-book, man,” Biden said. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16911044/
