Rounding the ‘net: The Press on Tiger vs. Obama

Oh, man, I’m cranky today already, and when I read stuff like this I know why. America, you are ridiculous. Truly.

I think it is remarkable that within a week of Tiger Woods crashing his Escalade the press found every woman with whom Tiger has had an affair in the last few years, with photos, text messages, recorded phone calls, etc.

And, they not only knew the cause of the family fight, but they even knew it was a wedge from his golf bag that his wife used to break out the windows in the Escalade. Not only that, they knew which wedge!

And each and every day, they gave America more updates on his sex-rehab stay, his wife’s plans for divorce, and the dates and tournaments he will play in.

Obama has been in office for over a year now, and this same press:

still cannot find any of his childhood friends or neighbors,

or locate any of Obama’s college papers or grades,

or how he paid for a Harvard education,

or which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the 1980’s,

they just can’t seem to find them.

Yet the public still trusts that same press to give them the whole truth!

Truly remarkable!!!

We let it happen folks. We sit back and pretend it really doesn’t concern us and we let it all happen. How we elected a man with no history still dumbfounds me.

  1. And to further confuse me, Walker supporters use the excuse that Obama didn’t release his college transcripts to excuse the fact that Walker won’t release his records from MU. Huh?

  2. Yep. I ran for Mayor of podunk Wisconsin and released my transcripts. The parallels to Walker’s camp and Obama’s are numerous, but that’s a whole different blog post.

  3. Randy in Richmond says:

This is the same press that sent scores of ‘investigative’ reporters to Alaska after Sarah Palin’s nomination, not in search of gold or black gold, but black dirt. The same press that spent days upon days going thru George Bush’s college and military records and basically coming up empty except for the computer generated Dan Rather forged document(s). The same press that constantly talked about Strom Thurmond’s racial past yet gave Robert Byrd a pass. The same press that recently wanted to not mention the ACORN sting, the John Edwards affair, or the dropping of charges by the Obama Justice Department against the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation in Philadelphia. On that same weekend AG Eric Holder was on Face the Nation with CBS’s Bob Schieffer and he never asked one question to Holder about the Black Panther case.

Remember the ‘lost episodes’ of Bonanza, I Love Lucy, and other TV shows ? At some point in the future we may find out about the lost years of Barack Obama.

  4. The Lorax says:

Thanks – I couldn’t find any talking points, Randy.

Not sure how I feel about transcripts. Part of me says they should be private.

  5. Sure – if a candidate has something to hide.

  6. The Lorax says:

Haha, figured you’d say that. I like transparency a whole lot. But I also like privacy. It’s a sticky balance. I mean, maybe they don’t have to be public unless there’s questions?
