Archbishop Dolan elected President of US Bishop’s conference

This morning in Baltimore in what is described as a bit of an upset, former Milwaukee Archbishop Timothy Dolan found his way to the head of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Dolan was a favorite around here. He seems to have taken it all the way to the top. Still evading Dolan, however, is a red Cardinal’s cap. And that’s been talked about as long as I’ve known his name.

Comments

  1. Conventional wisdom is that there’s never two Cardinals in the same Archdiocese, so Archbishop Dolan will not be elevated until Cardinal Egan passes on.

  2. Ah. Well, Dolan doesn’t seem to be the kind to rest on the laurels of conventional wisdom, does he?
