Go ahead. Pay more in taxes.

No one is stopping you.

I love this! And, no, I don’t intend to participate.

I’d support it. And as a matter of consistancy, I would expect Republicans would be just as excited to participate. I was led to believe that resolving our “fiscal crisis” was a GOP priority. Participating in a HOT tax would address this concern directly.

  2. You’d support it – meaning you’d pay the top bracket?

  3. J. Strupp says:

I’m not in the top bracket. I’d allow the top bracket to pay more on an elective basis since we’ve chosen to not make it manditory.

In the interest of deficit reduction which I’ve been told is a crisis.

  4. Ok, you worded that rather funny, but I guess we agree. I’d allow the top bracket – heck any bracket – to pay more if they really wanted to do so.

I think Warren Buffet and the rich guys charity club should just give it all to Obama to spend. Get the glory now and everything. Don’t you?

  5. J. Strupp says:

It’s a great idea because raising taxes on rich people has marginal downside risk to the economy and the increase in revenues will reduce the deficit that I’ve been told is in crisis.
