Why Robert Gibbs is the worst WH Press Secretary ever

Let’s not pay any attention to the politics of whom Gibbs is representing. Let’s instead look at how poorly he does that job.

I just watched a White House press conference on Egypt. (I’ll pop up a link to the video when it becomes available.) I’m flabbergasted at the number of times I just listened to Gibbs utter “I think” or “I believe.”

Mr. Gibbs might be very sad to know I don’t give a rip about what he believes. I want to know what the administration believes. The only “I think” that should be leaving his mouth is “I think I’ll need to ask the President to clarify an answer.”

I believe this is an excellent example of how this administration was unprepared to lead once assigned the highest office in the free world. Gibbs is obviously very poorly trained in this position. He’s quick in repartee, we’ve seen that over and over, but this crisis is dramatically highlighting just how unsuitable the support system is for the President of the United States of America.

President Barack Obama will do well to replace Gibbs as planned.

  1. Agreed

  2. Well thank you, but you do know I’m suspicious when we agree two days in a row, right?

  3. Randy in Richmond says:

Gibbs also does not return emails or other contacts to the White House press corps.

His leadership mirrors his boss–he votes present a lot of the time.

  4. Do you think Gibbs will suddenly appear on the scene in the Windy ( and currently snow-blown) City, immersed in activities with his WH ‘friends’ all conveniently dispatched back to Chicago to re-elect Pres. Obama?

  5. Oh, gosh. Really? 😉
