Michael Moore, prostitute

He came to rally those poor Wisconsin union workers this weekend. He said, according to the Examiner,

The country is awash in wealth and cash,” Moore stated “It’s just not in your hands. It has been transferred in the greatest heist in history from the workers and consumers to the banks and the portfolios of the ubber-rich.

The website Celebrity Net Worth estimates Michael Moore to have $50 million net. Guess that’s not ubber-rich anymore.

Just thought you’d want the full story. What kind of an idiot was applauding this man yesterday in Madison?

His statement, taken by itself, is primarily true. Big Corporate owns the politicians that enact legislation that transfers wealth upstream via regressive income tax rates, loopholes, shelters, deregulation, financialization, you name it.

If you look at Moore’s statement in the context of history, it is not true. Many more people have much more than they’ve had at any other time in our country’s past. Sure, many want for more and some are hurting–but relative to other periods in our country many more are much better off. Wealth will almost always go upward but it tends to leave plenty in it’s wake. And Moore is wrong–the union members he was speaking to would most likely be in a high percentile of income and benefits.

  3. Hey, I’m all for a flat tax. Hop out there and make it happen.

  4. Kettle calling the pot black-“Joe the (fake) Plumber”-Celebrity prostitute-speaking fee in WI over thew last week???

  5. Yes, Joe’s on the circuit. I wouldn’t pay to see him. I don’t think Joe rallied the proletariat as a member of the bourgeoisie. (That statement is made with the assumption that Mr. Moore doesn’t keep his $50 million stuffed in a mattress.)

  6. Wilson828 says:

Michael Moore is an idiot. He and his pal Jesse Jackson. Where there’s a pot and some stink you’ll find each of them with a big stick.

And we can’t do a flat tax. You’d ruin the economy. Do you have any idea of the various cottage industries setup around taxation? The people employed? The businesses? Gads.

I wasn’t aware that the union members had to pay to listen to Michael Moore. Could you link a site which confirms your using that in your ‘pot and kettle’ analogy ?
