The liberals look past Chris Abele’s money

By golly, they want him to lead Milwaukee County as Executive. Abele has even racked up the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel endorsement.

But, but, but…aren’t rich people supposed to be the devil or something? How in the world does Milwaukee’s liberal class reconcile the Abele wallet with the mantra they chanted recently in Madison?

Today Dan Bice shares Abele had a DWI, and it took him seven years to show up for his court date. That’s a really long time to let Abele put his big-boy pants on and face the charge, don’t you think?

Listen, I like rich people. I think they do their part to keep our economy moving by creating businesses that keep America employed. I’m not so fond of rich people who don’t think the law applies to them. And I’m a firm believer that someone with Chris Abele’s reputation of ne’er-do-well party boy doesn’t change overnight. Sure he wants a job now. Let him go buy one someplace besides Milwaukee County.

*Update – 3/13 – the MJS swears they haven’t endorsed Abele for this round.

  1. Methinks liberals are also going to look past his lack of a college degree.

  2. Oh, they are too happy to reconcile that as Scott Walker doesn’t either. 😉

  3. The Lorax says:

    I didn’t vote for him.

  4. Journalists just had to find something to use against Abele, and they did…an OWI from many many years ago.

  5. I think it’s the seven years that lapsed in getting the thing handled that count more than an OWI.

  6. jimspice says:

I didn’t vote for him either. I didn’t have to look at a single issue. I prefer a self-made man (or woman) to a ready-made one every time, all things being equal. But once he won the primary, he’s my guy, warts and all. Am I happy about it? No. But so crumbles the proverbial cookie.

  7. Anthony, It isn’t the OWI, it is the fact that he ignored it for 7 years… Now we learn he ignored another issue when he thre fireworks over his neighbors fence, he ignored that court date too.

You don’t seem to like it that Abele’s serious character flaws have come to the surface.

Should we ignore the rich guy who has so money he obviously thinks the laws do not apply to him?

  8. Thanks for the admission Spice just like the left to not give a damn about ethics.

  9. jimspice says:

I’m pretty sure I said I WAS concerned about an ethical lapse, a la, not happy about it. But I’m more concerned about Milwaukee County, and would take someone much more objectionable to Abele over a Walker clone any day. She aint pretty, but ya gotsta dance wit da girl which brung ya.

  10. BrkfldDad says:

The parking tickets I could ignore, but it goes towards his attitude. The OWI, much harder to ignore. The blatant disregard for the court. Final straw. Then today, word he did the same in 2006 for a fireworks citation and another bench warrant was issued. The guy is a head case.

  11. Pretty much the way I look at it, too. A trust fund baby who woke up one day and decided he’d try being a grown up.

  12. I guess that all of those rich liberals like WARREN BUFFET, STEVE FORBES, and BILL GATES should filet themselves for being mega rich?

Actual wealth has nothing to do with what liberals mean by demonizing the “wealthy”. For example, give the “wealthy” a tax cut, create a fiscal crisis, take money from the middle class to make up the difference. My household is losing –at least– $400 a month from Walker’s budget bill. Who benefits? “WEALTHY”!

  13. Losing? How much of that money goes directly to your retirement Tim? You still have it Tim, it is just in the bank earning interest for your retirement. It is clear you feel put out in having to contribute to your own retirment.

Clue in you whiner, the rest of us have to pay for all of it!

We also pay far more for our healthcare than you have to. You still have it better than most of us and you whine.

Thanks for sharing though, those of us in the real world really don’t feel bad for you at all.

  14. BrkfldDad says:

Now I KNOW he’s a head case or an idiot, the neighbor he was harassing with the fireworks was Michael Hupy. Dumb or what, or should I say pure arrogance or what. I like Stone taking the high road on this one, let Abele swim in his own cesspool.
