The recount is coming! The recount is coming!

Well, at least a decision about whether or not JoAnne Kloppenburg will request one is coming. She’ll let us know at 4:00 p.m. The GAB deadline for anyone watching is 5:00 p.m.

Oooh. I’m on pins and needles, how about you?

Now before you all from the left have baby cows, I don’t care if Kloppenburg wants a recount. I don’t even care if the state has to pay for it. I will share that it is unlikely to change the outcome of the race, and that will keep the fact that you lost in the front of political minds for a little more time than it might have otherwise stayed. (I will confess it is very enjoyable to read the occasional left-leaning blog post that argues Kloppenburg actually won because she didn’t lose as badly as originally expected.)

This race had a very unusual ending, but it doesn’t change the results. Unions bet the farm and lost. It’s a great big ouch for those who hang to the political left.

A couple of weeks ago I watched the national head of AFL-CIO on a news talk show say he knew the Wisconsin fight was lost as far as Walker and the union changes he’s put through. I am very curious as to when Wisconsin organizers will make that same concession.

Nice busy work to keep Republican staffers from hitting the campaign trail for all these recalls and special elections.
