I’ve been thinking

I know, it’s unusual, but after reading the text from the different accounts of today’s new jobs number, a tiny little thought made its way to my consciousness: What if Obama’s let things get so bad that Republicans take the Senate and the Presidency in November 2012? I’ve argued stalemate all along, that the right would never win both, but I’m beginning to think differently.

  1. J. Strupp says:

They deserve to lose all three.

  2. It’s not hard at all to see the (D) lose the Senate; they’re leaving several (6?) open seats where the Pubbies are only leaving three.

And….IF the Pubbies actually nominate someone worth voting for……Obozo is in deep now and taking on water at a horrendous rate.

  3. Not to toot my own horn, but I think I called that the Rs will have all 3 a few months ago.

At this point, I’d say 95% Rs keep the House, 70% Rs take the Senate, and 50% on the presidency. That 50% will jump considerably if Romney wins the nomination and drop considerably if someone like Bachmann or Perry gets it.

  4. I do remember you mentioning that, Ryan. I still don’t share your Romney allegiance. Wish I could find a candidate.

    BTW, welcome home.

  5. It’s very good to be home! BTW, my point isn’t that Romney is great, just that the only way Obama can win is if he can make the election about the other guy and he’ll have an easier time doing that against someone from the more extreme wing of the party.
