Don’t choke: Prosser cleared

Democrats in the state of Wisconsin will develop a new point of hysteria in 5…4…3…2…

Here’s a brief from WUWM.

  1. The Lorax says:

    That title…

  2. I found an interesting section from the Gableman statement on the case. On page 64 it says that when Gableman was new to the court:

“Justice Crooks was reading the horoscopes. Justice Gableman said he remembers making a comment to the chief justice in a joking manner and used her first name, Shirley, during this comment towards her. Justice Gableman said right after he said the chief justice’s first name, Justice Bradley came over to him, hit him on the back of the head and told him that he needed to show respect to the chief. Justice Gableman said that he believed Justice Bradley was not joking because nobody was laughing at the time.”

Besides the obvious strangeness of a Supreme Court Justice reading the horoscopes (makes you wonder how he reaches decisions) it goes a long way to show the pattern of bullying behavior that has been going on in the court.

  3. I used to always read my horoscope, but we don’t get the paper any more. I never remembered mine, but I did read it. 🙂

There’s no doubt there’s ugly on that court. Either Bradley or Abrahamson needs to go. I’ll let them pick which one.

  4. BrkfldDad says:

    How ’bout both go 

  5. If you insist.

  6. my legal career was/is as a judge and a lawyer. recently i spoke to a retured supreme justice from WI. and he said he was “embarrassed” by the present supreme court. the prevailing view from the judges and lawyers are the same. in my view. the power of the supreme court must be redefined and reconstructed. they have control over funding of programs and deciding right and wrong. this power is awesome. added with partisan politics it is not doing justice as the justices do. no one justice is to blame. the people elect from misleading information they buy into. but the power to punish citizens, lawyers, corporations and others is not equal when they decline to punish themselves. news accounts only scratch the surface. the new proposal to have open discussions will only further hamper the already troubled appeal system. where do we go ? obviously to the legislature who makes the laws. will they do anything? only if it favors the partisan environment. should judges/justices be appointed or elected. the partisans will favor the appointment system to have control. better left to the voters.
