Who’s Keeping Score ?

Interesting how the MSM, most blogs, and even Fox are depicting yesterday’s primary voting as a setback for Mitt Romney and a victory for Rick Santorum. Delegates won yesterday stack up as follows:

Romney……………………41
Santorum…………………35
Gingrich………………….24
Paul………………………….1

  1. I think the issue is primarily psychological. Romney just can’t seem to close the deal. Sure he got more delegates, but look at the vote totals. There were only about 5,000 total votes in Hawaii and about 60 (literally) in American Samoa (whose residents not only don’t have electoral votes in November, but aren’t technically American citizens – they are just American “nationals”). It’s hard to get too excited about those results.

However, delegates are delegates, so Romney still is likely to get the nod. That said, yesterday certainly didn’t help perceptions of his electability in November.
