Today in Brookfield

Not another great Sunday in Wisconsin. Oh sure. The Packers won. But three women are dead and we don’t even know who they are yet.

Who we will know.

Who we might miss.

I am so sorry for those who have suffered today. God be with them all.

  1. Speculation, but I’ve heard that one of the women killed was the estranged wife of the shooter. The reporter at TMJ had her hair done by her this past Wednesday. I’m not from Wisconsin but I know that area well as I used to have a client in Pewaukee and frequented the businesses on Blue Mound and Moorland Roads quite regularly. I had a few late night “dinners” at that McDonald’s, and entertained a client at the Fleming’s across the street.

The worst part is that their 2 daughters became orphans in a manner of minutes. It’s probably for the best that their dad killed himself (though still traumatic) but if they lost their mom, too, it’s that much worse. One was 13. The other was in her 20s. I hear the youngest shooting victim still alive was 22. Hopefully she wasn’t the daughter. Imagine what it would be like if you were seriously injured and your mother killed by someone who should be protecting you.

Of course, those on both sides of the gun control debate have started jumping to conclusions. There’s a time and a place for that discussion. Now is not the time. 🙁
