The Fairly Conservative under the bus pool

We’re going to have a pool to determine how many folks go under Obama’s bus before the inauguration. Shoot. Maybe we’ll even extend it through the whole term.

Obviously, Petreaus went thump, thump today. Dude’s affair is announced on a Friday before he’s set to testify? Give me a break. No one in Washington, DC can cut a fart without their friends and enemies well aware. Of course everyone knew the General liked powerful women. Today it worked for the administration to make it public.

I say four more before the January soiree. Hillary will be one. Holder another. Numbers three and four are speculation, but four is my number.

  1. Now that Obama won re-election, I think he will turn on the Clinton’s and declare himself Bubba. It will be an obamanation of desolation, and the Democratic Party will never be the same.

  2. Yeah except he resigned because the potential for blackmail is so high it’s a national security imperative he be removed. That’s not throwing someone under the bus. Neither is Hillary or Holder wanting to leave.

Everyone was wondering what the GOP would do post-election. We all hoped they would moderate and throw the crazies overboard. I see you’ve confirmed what we all knew to be the truth: that the crazy would just get crazier!

  3. Randy in Richmond says:

If what you say about Petreaus is true Lorax, then he will have no problem testifying before Congress on what he knows about the Benghazi attack. (without a subpoena)

The house cleaning for Benghazi and Fast & Furious has begun.

  4. @Lorax, once his wife and the public know about an affair the potential for blackmail disappears. I don’t recall the professional Left being concerned about the potential for blackmail when it was the President of the United States who admitted having an affair (with an intern, no less) while in office. Heck, we almost celebrate presidential affairs in this country. The president has access to all that classified information, and can make decisions on top of it.

  5. The FBI reports that they have been investigating for “months”, that they ruled out any criminal activity and that the potential of Petraeous being some sort of victim was ruled out too. So this is all coincidental because Petraeous was worried about the national security risk of himself being blackmailed? Remember he resigned on his own, was not ‘removed’. Doesn’t add up, Ron Johnson was right.

  6. KPOM – Exactly.

  7. Off with the election blinders, on with the tinfoil hats. And with surprising speed! Although you are trailing those nuts over at Free Republic, who have already convinced themselves that Obama will be impeached for treason.

  8. I look good in tinfoil, Mr. Supervisor. Silver is my color.

And be a careful reader. I said those couple of states should craft a GOP offering on immigration, not establish the nation’s policy on the matter. You usually don’t jump like that. What’s up?

  9. Is it just me, or does the FBI spying on the Director of the CIA cause a good laugh?

  10. Presidents traditionally reorganize after an election, advisers resign, switch roles, etc.; I expect no different from Obama. For many, this will seem like he’s throwing them under the bus. It will be hard to prove.

  11. Randy in Richmond says:

In a normal situation you are correct Dean. But the head of the CIA resigning 3 days after an election for something the previous Democratic President got caught in and did not resign, days before he’s supposed to testify before Congress, is not traditional or reorganization.

  12. Bdad: It’s just you. 😉

  13. And Dean, he could have resigned to spend “time with his family” and this other thing never be known. After all, it was the FBI with the information. It’s not like the press broke the story. Or he tweeted a picture of his junk.

  14. deaninwaukesha says:

I’m not saying it’s not suspicious…just that it will be hard to prove, especially to 50+% of the electorate. Especially if there’s a mass reorganization.

  15. Well then someone should call Valerie Jarrett and tell her one can reorganize without leaving bodies strewn about.

  16. Randy in Richmond says:

This is business as usual for this administration.

“House investigators asked Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to testify next week about the September 11 terrorist attack in Benghazi, but she declined citing a scheduling conflict.”

It insults my intelligence that apparently the administration believes this is a valid reason to not testify. But based on what just over half of the country buys from this administration, I admit to being in a minority that just want the truth. I’m getting used to it but I don’t have to like it.

  17. Not as Liberal as I Seem says:

The tinfoil hat thing might be accurate.. I mean what more truth do you want from the whole thing. We know it was a terrorist attack… it was said day 1. I personally just think it was a riot. But all this screaming and paranoia over something so little… the same thing happened like what… 6 times under Bush? where was the outrage then. Terrorist attacks will happen when we support the biggest terrorists of the middle east (israel).
