Don’t smoke the Kool-Aid

April 4, 2008 at 1:10 pm --by Cindy Kilkenny · 11 Comments

It’s a Fairly Conservative exclusive - a phrase that I’m told I coined in a conversation with Kyle Prast. It must have been a slip between “I want what they’re smoking” and the phrase I don’t much care for, “They drank the Kool-Aid.”

I’m going to let it stick. You can expect to see it occasionally.

——

Don’t drink the Kool-Aid, is (now) the title of a book out to take aim at Oprah Winfrey and her new age teachings as well as her association with Barack Obama.

This author isn’t alone.

Chuck Norris is taking aim on Oprah as well.

Chuck Norris? The guy who campaigned for Huckabee day in and day out, the guy who hawks the Bowflex?

This is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

There were rumors, er, predictions for 2008 that Hillary would do what she could to bring down Oprah as payback for not endorsing Hillary. So I must ask, is Hillary, or those big beautiful Clinton bucks, behind any of this?

Oprah’s stuff can be a little weird. I don’t think Hillary had to urge anyone on.

Cheri, it’s a bad habit. Should I opine instead?

    Kathryn,
Let’s take turns! I’ve been opining… your turn now! Perhaps I’ll endeavor to think a bit….

BrkfldDad, sorry, your comment was caught in Spam.

You’re right, that’s where the phrase is from. Someone has chosen it for the title of the book, though.

    Thanks for the link.
