The favorite computer has locked up several times today. There’s nothing like being in the middle of an e-mail and having to restart! Hmmm… I thought. I’ve been here before.
Sure enough, a Microsoft update had slipped through and installed itself. For whatever reason, I haven’t had a successful update in a loooong time. I turned it off completely today.
So hack away, I’m backed up. In the meantime I won’t be tempted to toss this lovely piece of equipment across the room.

Or do what I did and install Ubuntu Linux. It works just like Windows–except it works!
