Fairly Conservative

To a sufficient degree; in an evenhanded manner.

Well I’m disgusted, so I’m taking a break

Last night’s Senate vote to pass the pigout bill did me in for a while. I’m not even planning to watch the debate. If there’s anything embarrassing it will be on YouTube within an hour.

I’m going to do what I do best when I’m mad: clean house. I just put in a second load of laundry and the kitchen is now spotless. I think I’ll grab the carpet cleaner and have at it today.

I have about three things to write, including the conference call I was invited to attend from the API. It will wait. I doubt you’ll even miss me!

Well I’ll miss you. Comon now …. it’ll be great entertainment to watch the debate and you’re too engaged to simply miss it because you’re cleaning. And what is it with women that when they’re mad or anxious that they resort to cleaning? What’s that all about? By contrast, most men, eat …. so go eat something fattening! (wink) (chin up)

Cindy, at least you can take solace in the fact that Russ Feingold voted against that bailout bill.

I did! In fact I e-mailed him today to thank him. I also asked if he’d do an interview for the blog, but haven’t heard from him yet.

Wait a second - didn’t the GOP hero McCain suspend his campaign to rush to Washington to demonstrate …. uh …. “leadership” … (I think that’s what you called it) … to help resolve the financial crisis with the pending vote in the house? And we saw how well that worked Monday when the Dow immediately dropped 777 points after the house failed us. And so last night I write Feingold and scold him and you write him and compliment him? The Dow movement hasn’t caused you financial loss? Or wait ….. you didn’t notice that even the financial giant, GE, had to get help from Warren? While I agree we shouldn’t have to pay for this financial crisis …. you need to realize that we are not paying for it … we’re loaning money with a repayment plan to get it back. I’m back out east on Monday …. watching this Monday night on the tv …… on Tue morning I awaken to a national news crew interviewing the average guy on the street on what he thought about Monday vote. They’re in a Dunkin Donuts talking to some guy in a dirty tshirt and of course he is in favor of not spending money. That’s not the average guy on the street. Lack of credit will impact jobs - and already has. This bill needs to pass tomorrow. It’s that simple.

Yes, it will. And within days we’ll hear that it will never be enough.

Don’t mope Cindy. Take a lesson from McCain and get back on that horse. Tomorrow is always another day.

    I did.

And I’m back in the saddle. It did feel great to take the day off.

(BTW - I heard the first “won’t be enough” statement on CNBC just now.)
