There’s $60,000 coming from the fuel budget. That’s about how much the fund had been increased.
It’s a fair move given the way prices are falling.
Congratulations to 6th District Alderman Gerry Mellone for making the suggestion to cut the line item. Although he didn’t get the entire amount he’d suggested, the six to one vote in favor of the idea means there might be more in budget thriftiness heading our way.
More ideas will be discussed next Monday night.
(You’ll notice it wasn’t even on the Mayor’s list, nor was it offered by the Chair of the Finance Committee who has written extensively on the issue.)

Echoes the sentiments that until we as taxpayers can see the line item details, how are we to suggest the cuts? Congrats to Ald. Mellone.
