To a sufficient degree; in an evenhanded manner.

So how did Sarah Palin do?

September 4, 2008 at 12:08 am --by Dean Mundy · 8 Comments

We conservatives, admittedly, like Gov. Palin already and see her speech in a different light than others.

But is there perhaps some other, qualitative way to judge her performance tonight?

Perhaps there is. Comparing their list to the speech posted below, here’s what I came up with.

  • Reclaim Her Image. I think she did that.
  • Substance Matters. She reeled off a number of issues and the proposed solutions to each. Simplified, of course, but it was a start to showing she could grasp national issues.
  • Blame the Media. This was an easy one. Any one not know that this was coming.
  • Call Out Obama. She certainly did this. Whether you agree with what she said about him, she certainly let it be known that she’s not afraid to be the “attack dog.”
  • Charisma Counts. The crowd loved her, whether it was just the base, r just Republicans. It remains to be seen if she can carry that over to the independents, undecideds or dissaffected Democrats (if these exist at all).

Mission accomplished. Tonight anyway.

I didn’t see a lick of charisma in this woman. Her high and shrill voice was difficult to listen to. This woman’s lack of real experience disqualifies her completely from the position she seeks. Can you imagine Palin in a conversation with Putin or any other world leader for that matter? Frightening thought. She ought to be spending time making sure that her newborn with special needs has her full attention as well as tending to the needs of her child who is pregnant with child. When I think of her experience and ability versus that of Joe Biden, it’s laughable at best that this woman’s name should even be mentioned in the same sentence. You say that she’s not afraid to be the attack dog yet she is already decrying those who are pointing out her poor judgement, lack of qualifciations and poor decisions in both city and state government. Any journalism major can get on camera and give a good recitation of a speech written for them. It takes an actual leader to make the right decisons. Palin has proven herself worthy of being able to read well. That’s about it!

Obama is a socialist ready to give the emotional Obama Mama handouts. Obama Mama please tell us facts about what Obama brings to the table instead of your scared reactions to Palin.

Willie isn’t Christianity a socialist concept? Isn’t the Christian Right the driving force behind the McCain s side of the fence. Pallin is part of the problem not the solution.

Yes Walt churches are traditionally social communities. You can help others being a capitialist or a conservative. The goods and services to help others have to come from somewhere. I would say hard working people who pay taxes, don’t want handouts, abid by laws, and help others are the driving force f the Right. Do you know the story of the Massachusetts Bay Colony where they tried socialism but more and more people in the colony wanted to take rather than give. It resulted in starvation and a change. This is from America’s history. Also refer to Soviet Union, etc. When and where has socialism worked? And when all of the “rich” people’s money has been taken and incentive to work is gone then who takes care of the takers?

Excellent point Willie C. If I may expand upon it further:
Imagine that you are suddenly taxed by a Godless Big Governement for no reason, so that your take home pay goes from $10,000 to $5,000. and the money is used for abortions and the government sponsored ’social programs’ that you do not support. Wouldn’t you just move elsewhere or stop contributing?
Now imagine that you are used to earning much more, and that you had sacrificed much to struggle to the top. Applying the same percentages to someone who would have brought home $10 million but now under the Godless Taxation scenario contributes $5 million of that to abortion (code word ‘health care’ and ‘family planning) and buying ‘literature’ for libraries. Clearly no one in their right mind would give up $5 million dollars!! The people that earn that much are very smart, and would simply work in a different country. That is how the communist sponsored brain drain begins, and it will be the demise of our country. No, however hard it is to shoulder the burden for our country, we must approach this toil with the satisfaction that hard work begins right at home, and if there is a problem with the economy, we can not blame that on successful Americans.

Yes Repubabubba, All incentive is removed. And absolutely it is on what the money is spent (wasted) on) that counts greatly. Taxing yourself into prosperity is illogical. At all levels of taxes and including the more hidden government “fees” 40 to 50% of our income is being confiscated now. I for one don’t feel prosperous now. Taking 60 or 70% doesn’t make me hopeful.
