And you clever voters just handed them another $62.2 million. Here’s the story from this morning’s paper on Elmbrook’s failing plan.
Reality check: there’s trouble in paradise that has yet to be disclosed. A reader e-mailed me weeks ago, after this story, to say that Elmbrook was using a problematic strategy, too. David Noack, listed in this first article as pitching the bonding scheme to Waukesha schools, was a prominent contributor to Elmbrook’s LEGACY team from the first referendum.
Funny, the district has been careful to hide that little detail.

In my opinion, an administrator in charge of finance and operations, who has NOT been planning for the future is the one we need to release.
Administrators who HIDE things from the board, pressure committee members for silence, etc could also change their ways or take their methods elsewhere.
Someone who doesn’t stonewall, exclude, marginalize, ostracize, etc, but considers the input from all sources and experiments with different solutions may not always APPEAR to have achieved success, but is on a SOLID path to acheiving a lasting success that people can buy into… by building relationships… this is the type of administrator to hang on to.
Unfortunately, we have too many “yes” people and few who are willing to tell the emporer when his expensive new clothes are really nothing at all. If only he’d listen, he may find that those who do not so readily agree with him are truly his better allies, supporters, and friends, for they gift him with… the TRUTH. A rare and precious commodity, and it need not be so.
